Pooped

The main news of the day is that Son2 returned safely from his lads' holiday, none the worse for wear and having had a very good time. It's good to have him back :) He still has the remnants of the cough that he had before he went away, unfortunately, and Son1 still has his.

Son2's flight was delayed and consequently, the time I had to collect him from Haslemere was put back which resulted in me not being able to go out with the Easy Riders this evening. It's okay, though, as I got plenty of exercise when I took the dogs to the common this afternoon and lost Polly...

She was lagging behind Basil and I, eating grass, so we kept going and then I decided to put him in his pushchair as we'd reached an uphill bit. When I turned round and called Polly she didn't come and I soon realised she was nowhere to be seen. To cut a long story short, unbeknown to me, Polly had taken the left turn we sometimes take rather than going straight ahead. I went up and down and round, trying all the different paths, calling her, but she had disappeared into thin air. I phoned Son1 to see if he could come down and help search for her. He was out on his daily walk over the hill but said he'd walk home (which would take about 20 minutes) and then drive down.

Anyway, following much running with the pushchair and several conversations with other walkers who had seen her, I finally caught up with Polly down the lane just as Son1 arrived in Reggie. The interesting thing is, Polly had actually taken the exact, unusual route that we did yesterday to avoid the bull which she, obviously, remembered. Clever girl! It's good to have her back as well :)
