Gran & Grandad's Little Soldier
Well, after such glorious photographic weather yesterday, today was as dreich as it gets, with heavy rain virtually all day.
We had Jamie here as normal and, when it came to thinking about a blip, something that included 'wet weather' seemed a certainty.
We were out and about this morning, returning early afternoon and when Jamie is indoors, there are two things he likes to do on a regular basis. One is to sit with the iPad on YourTube and the other is to 'play' tunes on the recorder.
He is absolutely fascinated by bagpipes and, on YouTube, he listens continuously to selected arrangements of 'Scotland the Brave', with some occasional forays into 'Highland Cathedral'.
I should add that the recorder in the photo was the one we actually bought for his Mum, so there's a bit of recycling for you!!
Of course, to him, the sound that he produces is indeed 'Scotland the Brave' and, as far as he's concerned, the recorder is in fact a set of bagpipes!!
One of the videos he likes to watch is of a pipe band on the esplanade at Edinburgh Castle and this is him 'marching' to the sound of his pipes and drums.
I suggested to Mrs T that we might get him a miniature set of bagpipes at Christmas time, on the proviso that, if they ever leave his Mum & Dad's house, they will immediately self destruct!!! (Just kidding .......!!)
