No 132: Grey Plover
Our final day here in Norfolk, so we went back to nearby RSPB Titchwell Marsh where we spent our first full day. A day of mixed fortunes. It started with poor weather and low visibility and there didn't seem to be an awful lot about, but then there were cries of delight from one of the hides as a dozen or so bearded tits burst forth from the reed beds. My bogey bird sighted! Sadly they were too far away to get a decent photo, even if I had had the monster lens. We then went down to the beach where there was lots of different gulls and waders. We also saw juvenile gannets fishing, and another lifer for me - this grey plover. The weather got a little brighter and we even ate lunch outside before another stroll, where we spotted 2 birders from our local bird study group. Small world.
