Well, I found it amusing.

We had a day in Birmingham today, only the second since I retired after being based there for thirty years. I was delighted to find the Friends Meeting Rooms still here surrounded by buildings that used to be Lewises store.
There is a probably apocryphal story concerning the two. Over fifty years ago Lewises wanted to expand and approached the Quakers asking how much they would want for their meeting room. The reply, "How much do you want for your store"?
Lewises has long been gone.
