Portsoy sunset
Up early and a tasty breakfast of local haddock and poached eggs.
On to the medieval conservation village of Fordyce with it's 13th century church and 16th century castle. Beautiful flower filled gardens.
On to the Old fishing village of Sandend a place full of interesting houses and sheds. We sat by the harbour admiring the view and the walked to the large, stunning sandy beach and watched the surfers.
A quick drive and a walk past the doocot to the cliff side to see the ruined Findlater Castle.
Back to Portsoy for lunch, rolls and biscuits eaten in by Loch of Soy trying to avoid the gulls and ducks. We also enjoyed some delicious Portsoy Icecream. A look in the Marble shop by the harbour.
The afternoon was spent enjoying the other little fishing villages. We found where Mikes Grandad used to live in Banff. We looked Gardenstown and spent a few hours there before going back to Portsoy for fish and chips that we ate at the harbour. We signed into our next hotel and walked back to the harbour to see a magnificent sunset.
