The chap in the glasses is a neighbour who the children nicknamed Mr Magoo, a choice of nickname that will makes perfect sense if you are familiar with the character.

Should be thinking about dinner, but I just can't be bothered. It's too humid, takes the edge right off my appetite. Only one thing for it, wine and chocolate.
