The Old Chair, derelict crofters cottage, Hebrides
They're scattered all over the Outer Hebrides. Old and decaying cottages and houses, crofts and once loved farms.
The harsh climate, bitter winds and lack of modern truly connected systems & ways have slowly had their effect on the islands and the only real in-comers are the birdwatchers, the walkers, the photographers and artists who go each year for the peace, the tranquillity, lack of interconnected ways and systems....and a chance to take home some evidence that once life existed here albeit on a harsh and hard level
I'd already done a series back in 2010 called 'manicomio' where I photographed rotting institutions across Europe. Now available everywhere, its the in thing to photograph old places in HDR.....this just felt like some nice tones of the black and white and the chair which no doubt saw a few bums over the years
