Penrith Rugby Club

No I haven't started playing rugby!  The last time I played was for college 49 years ago!  So why was I leaving the club as the sun was setting?   Well at 6:30 we remembered the AGM of the Penrith & District Red Squirrel Group started at 7:00 and we had a call to make before then.

We arrived on time!  After the business part of the evening the main parts of which were the success with squirrel sightings being up year on year and Grey sightings being down year on year.  Unfortunately this was followed by the fact the group needs over £100,000 per year to keep up the level of work/protection and a donor who had been exceedingly generous over the years has died, so efforts will have to be made to raise several 10s of thousands of pounds. 

All in all an interesting evening rounded off by the beautiful colour of the sky as we left the meeting.
