Or not. This appears to be a ladybird in pupal stage (confirmed by a few people), but paused halfway through. Doubt it's going to make it.

Same for us. We headed out to Traquair to look at an old farmhouse and land, but we knew it wasn't quite going to be right. The home report noted damp, and woodworm, and problems with the roof and rendering, and asbestos in the collapsing outbuilding roofs. Oh, and later found out it's in a flood risk area. Now all of that said we came away pondering how much it would cost to completely rip out the insides, completely rebuild the outbuildings, and ponder the various business opportunities that the location does have going for it.

But no. Very close, but no cigar. However, it has given us more ideas. So silver linings.
