Bruise on the Way

Arrived back safely last night from Scotland last night and it must be a sign of age but we both commented that it was good to be back in our own bed .... despite not knowing where we were during the night!

Unpacking done today. Happy to see that our orchid was thriving. On the patio, our new jasmine looked a bit worse for wear but have pruned it back and hopefully it will survive and was still giving out its gorgeous scent. I've cut down a banana tree - around 3 feet - to let the taller one thrive and trimmed back our ivy on the back wall and was very happy to see the first flowers on the jasmine there. Four wee tomatoes ready to be picked. Tomorrow all our plants will get a wee bit of talking to and some TLC.

When we walked out tonight to stretch our legs, I noticed a butcher's shop and popped inside as we're still looking for a butcher to replace the one we used in our now closed down market. As I was leaving the shop, the butcher said, 'Careful' and then said he'd get the door for me. I just thought the door was a bit heavy to manage and hadn't realised his 'Careful' was because the outside steel shutters were partly down. I walked straight into them! I got a fright and tomorrow will probably have a bruise, starting to form here, to explain to our new guests!

We started our CEP today (careful eating plan!) as we've had too many good breakfasts and good meals in the last few months for one reason or other and it's now time to get back on track. A good start today and we both know what we have to cut back on. The electronic scales wondered who we were this morning though, but will get used to us over the summer!
