New leaf, new life.
This is the newest leaf on a potted plant of a Schefflera, family Araliaceae, species unknown. The plant was grown from seed from a tree at Arduaine by my late friend Jamie Taggart of The Linn, on the Rosneath Peninsula in the Clyde. I grew the Arduaine plant from a cutting of the parent in Peter Cox's garden at Baravalla, West Loch Tarbert. The original plant was grown from seed by Peter from a tree in Arunachal Pradesh, the most north-easterly state of India. It's perfectly hardy in this climate and ought to be grown far more.
I love recording the history of a plant - much more fun than merely quoting its name!
