The Youth Market by Night

Hanging around in town that bit later has its plus points. Whilst I'm keen to scurry away to the sanctuary of the peninsula most nights, the odd foray into the city after dark meant that I had a chance to swing by an old and new favourite - namely Pomeroys and Beat Street Cafe just down the road. What's more I realised that I was in the right part of town to shoot the Christchurch Youth Market site on Barbadoes and try and capture the colours of this wonderful neighbourhood project.

It's little projects like this and Gap Filler that are doing so much to promote the importance of neighbourhoods in Chur Chur since the quakes. What's more their bright colours bring a fantastic sense of optimism where once rubble lay dormant.
