My Mam

was born in 1907 and it would have been her Birthday today.
She left school aged 13 and went straight to work. I am guessing this photo was taken at about that time.Its the only one I have of her when she was young.I managed to enlarge it as the original is tiny.
I have her identity card giving permission for her to be employed but naturally can't find it.The smaller one is a Walking picture taken c1930.
It shows her pushing my sister. Mam had 7 children in total a bit like the woman who lived in a shoe ;) Those of you who know Whitley Bay will recognise where Tom Owens shop stands.Where the sun blinds are.It was formerly a Sweet shop. Down the lane is the library where we meet for Make do and Mend.;) Its a beautiful day here.Sunshine and not a cloud in the sky. After a weekend of meetings my Vocal chords have taken a severe hammering so I'm off out to lounge whilst I get the chance ;)
