A lucky little chicken
This is Lucky. And lucky she has been.
She has survived coyotes, raccoon's, being sold, and being given to survivalists ( who couldn't go through with making their own chicken nuggets--thankfully) and along with all that stress, she laid the largest egg I've ever seen. That was captured and posted on Legacy's blipfoto of Aug. 31, 2012.
Just by a 3-second chance conversation at work, a co-worker asked if anybody would like to have her last chicken. And so her story and name were told to me and I couldn't resist rescuing her.
Since I was 10 years old I've loved and wanted chickens. It wasn't until I was 38 that I could have & raise chickens. I named them all and loved them all.
So, from my first chicken Rosy, (for whom I built a "chicken hammock" when she couldn't walk any longer) to my last Lucky girl; I share and cherish this wonderful photo.
