Lone Bird in the Bay
As soon as we got to the beach we headed to the dock to go crabbing at slack tide. I saw this bird near where we moor our boat.....I thought it was a familiar bird, but looking closer I am not sure what it is.....it is smaller than a Loon but kind of has a Loon beak......Murrelett? probably not. Hopefully one of you will recognize it. I love the look of the water with the reflections of different colors. I thought he might have a long scar by his eye, but that same line was on both sides near his eye.
We took a neighbor with us and we able to go crabbing out in the ocean; it has been awhile since it was calm enough to get out. We only crabbed for about 1 hour, but we got 18 beautiful ocean crabs.....nice and big! We cooked them and had a fun crab feed this evening. Yummy. The crab were easy to crack and shell because they were not quite hard shelled yet......they were almost hard so there was plenty of meat, but not so hard that you needed to use a cracker on the shells. Perfect since our neighbor was a novice at cracking them.
