An interesting wedding day today, as our crazy Iranian friends finally became Mr & Mrs. An interesting mix of cultures and backgrounds, an interesting mix of people and interesting to watch the bride's reactions to the entire day (nervously waiting to see if we'd done everything right).

While this wedding has really run this wilful bride down, it was good to be reminded of her formidable character: dressing as a boy as a child so she could go kite running; being the first woman in Iran to be the head of a government organisation; risking rejection from her family after converting from Islam and knowing she will never be allowed to return to her country. Thankfully, she has found in Ali the perfect gentle and kind character to compliment her crazy.

Unfortunately, all photos of the bride and groom are banned from social media so you get this couple instead, nearly a year in and still looking good.

(Hilariously, CS as chief bridesmaid was also dressed in ivory which, for the majority of the day, made it look like Ali had lucked out with a 2-for-1 offer on brides).
