Heads

I was in the National Library reading, among other things,  a book about Medical Teaching in Edinburgh During the 18th and 19th Centuries.  I knew a little about the Phrenological Museum that opened in Clyde Street in the 1820s and its subsequent move to Surgeons' Square in 1849.  But what I didn't know that it later moved again, this time to Chambers Street, where the carved heads of Gall, Spurzheim and Scotland's own champion of the science, George Combe, remain today.  

On my way back to Waverley Station, I took a detour and lo, there they were.
