Purple-loosestrife ......

..... well I think that's what this purple plant, growing at the side of the pond, is called. Wild flowers do have some strange names.

The pond in Rouken Glen Park was covered with great clumps a bright green algae stuff. The ducks and ducklings were enjoying it but it didn't look particularly appetising to me.

There was a boat of sorts gathering up the clumps and then taking them to side where a truck was quickly filling up with the green gunge.
