...The Stratford Centre was constructed in the 1970s facing the High Street but the later construction of a bus terminal and the refurbishment of the train station has turned the rear facade into a prominent entrance. The 250 metre-long Stratford Shoal sculpture was conceived as a series of tree-like forms with steel branches and oversized titanium leaves that would screen this elevation.
