And a Seagull
There are masses of hanging baskets around town at the moment. They are looking good and mostly nice and colourful, particularly today with nice weather, quite summery in fact. I presume the judges for "Britain in Bloom" must be due on town shortly, or have already been.
The photo is taken in Golden Square, one of several elegant squares in the city centre, most of which are spoilt by being used as car parks. The statue shows George 5th (and last) Duke of Gordon. he is not notable for anything in particular, so I am not sure why he merits a statue in such a dominant position. As is often the case with statues in Aberdeen he is shown here sporting a seagull on his head.
It was graduation day at Robert Gordon University today. Lots of formally dressed people as well as students in gowns having their photographs taken. Today's graduates were in medical and health related disciplines.
