Silly Saturday ...

What an interesting day we have had!!

I had read a while ago that the Budweiser Clydesdale horses were going to be in town this week.  They are staying at the Bethlehem Ice Rink ... just like the last time they visited with us. Thursday night after supper we drove by the ice rink during the open to the public hours.  The place was packed with cars and the line snaked forever outside!  We passed on seeing them as there was no way I was going to be able to wait in that line!

Moving on to today ....

The horses were scheduled to be at the opening of the new Bethlehem Mounted Police stables today from 1 pm - 4 pm .... or so we thought!  We headed over there at 1 pm and just like Thursday the place was packed and we couldn't even find a parking place!  

We returned home with the thought of returning by 3 pm ... and we did that.  We got over there a little before 3 pm only to find the horses being loaded into their trucks!  What the ....???

Come to find out that the open house was scheduled for 1-4, but the Clydesdales were only going to be there from 1-3 pm!  Well, at least we got to see them for a little bit before they pulled out!  Silly us!!

This collage also contains my entry for the Blip Community challenge "municipal employees at work."  I have included a photo of some of Bethlehem's bravest employees ... three firefighters.  Unfortunately I didn't have time to stop and chat with them as we were in a hurry to see the horses!

As you can see by this blip I am running a bit behind in my journal.  I have all the pictures ready to post but they will have to wait until later.
