Truro
Yesterday we took the boat to Poole and then drove for 3 hours to our first holiday home in Cornwall. We are staying near Truro for one week, and then spending another week near(ish) Bodmin.
We only arrived at about 11pm last night, so we all woke up rather late this morning. After we'd all washed and eaten breakfast we drove into Truro to have a look around and buy some food. We parked near to a big Tesco and walked in the direction of the big cathedral which we could see poking above the skyline. The cathedral was nice, and apparently it is the only one in Cornwall. After that we walked around for a while, found a park and got Dad a t-shirt from Fatface for Father's Day, as we didn't get around to getting him anything before we left Jersey. After a while we found a nice place to have lunch (called the Market Inn) on Lemon Quay. Then we did some shopping, and went back to the house to deposit the food. We met the owners, who gave us a book of walks, and we drove south to do one of them. We parked at a village/beach called Gorran Haven, and walked up along the headland. It was very hot, despite us starting past 3pm, the sun was still high in the sky. We didn't really see any wildlife for the first half of the walk, except for some sheep and cows. The scenery was nice for the whole walk, lots of green and blue. There were many gates, and almost every one had a slightly different latch to all the others.
