Vincent's happy day
Being an optimist, I am seldom prepared for how much more time it takes to organize public events than to participate in them. The Buddhist Peace Fellowship had a potluck dinner picnic prior to our monthly planning meeting, and it was Vincent's birthday, so I made him a cake and we sang the birthday song for him. He got a cancer diagnosis about five months ago, but on Monday, his birthday and the day of our meeting, reports of his latest tests indicate he is cancer-free now. It looks like the chemotherapy worked! He needs one more test to be absolutely sure, but this was a birthday present he really wanted. Happy 49th, Vincent! I was lighting candles and dishing up cake, so I didn't also have time to get good shots of Vincent and our planning group, but 17 people showed up and we had a productive meeting and much good feeling.
