Learning Curve

I've been watching this juvenile Robin in our garden for a while now. He hangs out around the lower feeders where the food is not so accessible for him, but seems to shun the patio feeders where it is much easier for his ilk. Could it be that he is trying to keep out of the way of his elders and betters? Even if they are his parents, they are busy now with a new brood, and Robins are notoriously territorial. Being a family member confers no special privileges.
It was great having a visit from a friend today, especially as the weather was so gloomy. It cheered me up no end!
