Threshing the hay on Ferney's Close
I've been inside for much of the day but I've noticed the weather changing. The bright sky early in the morning clouded over and then very brief showers came down from darker clouds. Sunny periods then alternated with puffy clouds.
After collecting Helena from Brimscombe after 4pm we drove home and had a cup of tea. When I returned to my desk I noticed that the field beyond Oakey Grove, called Ferney's Close, had just been cut. I went downstairs to get my camera and managed to catch the tractor threshing the hay.
As I am writing this the same tractor has been back over the field and produced twenty big round hay bales, a couple of which rolled down the field and into the hedge. Summer is here, and the farmer must be responding to the forecast of heavy rain tomorrow.
