Whistle stop tour of Kent

Canterbury first, rather shocked to see armed police at the entrance to the Cathedral. We chose to wander around the streets and then took a short boat tour instead of visiting the cathedral (£10/person not very tempting for our family of 4 non-religious Scots). Fun English history lesson from our Italian tour guide, complete with Italian arias as he rowed us under the bridges.

Having exhausted the delights of Canterbury, we decided we had time to visit Margate. A quick run around the Turner gallery before it closed, then fish & chips for dinner again! Main photo is the view from our fish and chips bench, extra is is the river in Canterbury, with the tour boats.
