Red Admiral, orange sea

Well, I said I'd get a red admiral with its wings outstretched so here it is - BUT - I never expected to get one on this background.  Almost ridiculously bright, isn't it, and I have tried to tone it down.

In our area at the moment contractrors for British Gas are digging deep holes in pavements and peoples' front gardens.  They are feeding new plastic piping inside the old gas pipes to make us all safer. It's a huge operation.

Around all the holes already dug are large orange plastic barriers.  As my neighbour was hosing her grass and we were chatting this butterfly came over and hung out on the barriers.  We both reckoned is was keen to get a little water.  It is so dry here now.

Apart from that, my Sunday has been social and fun.  Hope yours has been too  xx
