Day 36 - The John Hewitt, Belfast

We stayed in Belfast today as we had a gig this evening which was brilliant! (After a short rainy busking session this afternoon.) It was also our last gig tonight with Eva and Mr G as they are leaving us as of the weekend and the new Bassist and Cellist join next week. A strange sound on stage tonight but lots of positive feedback about the string section rocking the joint ;-).

At the pub back home before I left it was a usual thing for Seasick Steve to be the chosen juke box line up....three songs on loop This was on the wall directly behind me on stage tonight and seeing it completely made me smile! Think of home and the pub, Sheila, Dave and Nats. Many a night trying to decide whether to jack it all in and follow my dream by joining The Wishing Well Band... When I saw this is reminded me if home and reminded me why I am here also how much it has taken me physically and mentally to be here... Sheila at the pub did tell me time and time I had to go for it... The answer whether to join the band was an obvious one to everyone else but I was terrified...

Not anymore...
