Oh what a lovely day .......

..... we had when we went to Godlming !
I collected "O & M " at 9.40am , after winding our way though the countryside ( having a coffee stop of 40 minutes on the way ) we arrived at the wharf at 12.15pm , as the boat trip didn't leave until 2pm we wondered around the wonderful , large , Sainsbury's . Where I purchased a rather nice pair of trousers!!tut tut I really should aught a!!
Then just lazed in the sunshine until the boat left ( we did have a bite in the cafe at Sainsbury's ).
We cruised along the NT waterways of The River Wey from the most southerly navigation area. The Iona was pulled along this tranquil waterway by a heavy horse , apparently a French breed. We traversed 2 locks before the boat needed to turn round. It was such a tranquil trip , enjoyed by all.
The boat was built 1935 at Woolwich , London by Harland & Wolff who built the titanic , so pleased there were no Icebergs in sight !!!! She is 70ft long & 7ft wide and could carry 35 tons of cargo.
On our return we decided to go for a Chinese meal and very good it was too. The company was great , full of caring and laughter.

Thankful ...... for "O & M's " company as well as their help. Thanks guys for the great day.

With thanks to Maureen 482 for recommendation
