A trip in Buzzy
This boat has been in Steve's family since he was a boy. His dad bought it in 1961!! We had not been up here for vacation for 2 years and the boat's motor had not been started in all that time. But Steven got it working again and as you can see, we got to take it out on the St Lawrence River. We circumnavigated Horseshoe island this afternoon, beautiful!!
The Canadian Maple Leaf on Buzzy's front deck was painted by Steve in 1995.... This was done after a huge thunder & lightning storm which flipped the boat over and left it so that waves were crashing on it for hours. It was so beat up at first they thought they would sink it as a dive site in the river! Steve decided to take on the job of trying to refurbish Buzzy and he did using hydrolic jacks and leverage. An interesting paint job and a new motor and they were back buzzing around in buzzy! His mom named the boat for this behavior!
Only one more full day here, then a travel day on Monday. We've had lots of time with visiting family and also kin who live on the island. Beautiful weather, canoeing, buzzy rides, & butter tarts too!!
