Conflicted!

So I've a guy coming round tomorrow to see if my '81 Land Rover can be put back on the road safely and economically. However, this evening, I was inside a pal's '75 VW Camper Van, and I think at my age, one of these gorgeous old vehicles might be a better bet. Just imagine tootling along (because they just about tootle, with all of their 40 bhp!) to a beach, even in winter, with my camera, and maybe even one or two family members. Having a snooze in the back, wakening up and making some coffee, and then going for a leisurely stroll.
There is something quite enigmatic about the appeal of Volkswagens, especially the vans. It may be that we had two red VW Beetle in succession when we were kids, a '69 and a '72 - I don't know, but I get all gooey inside when I see one.
