Flower Friday : : For Biker Bear*
Thank you all for your kind and thoughtful comments, hearts and stars for my five year anniversary. Almost as soon as I started, blipping I realized that I was hooked, and now after five years without missing a day, taking a picture, writing an entry and checking on all you wonderful people around Blipland has become not only a part of my day, but a part of my being. I'm always saying , "I have a friend who..." and realizing that whichever Blipper I am speaking of is indeed a friend...even if we have never met. I am really proud to be a part of this fantastic community.
The mercury has surpassed 100 degrees today and OilMan is postponing all garden chores until it is a bit cooler. We went this morning to sign a two inch high stack of papers which nobody will ever read. The woman who was explaining each paper acknowledged that nobody would ever read anything beyond the title, and said she'd been doing it for too long and needed to retire because she was becoming too cynical. Then Kevin, the financial advisor in the process wandered in and all he could talk about was his tomato plants! He seemed to think OilMan was an expert on tomatoes (everybody around here is obsessive about their tomatoes!), but OilMan said he didn't remember ever talking to him about tomatoes. I think the heat is getting to everybody....
I sent a text to my neighbor Cindy, and no sooner had I pressed 'send' than she was knocking on the front door. Telepathy or timing? It was actually the front door I wanted to talk to her about. We are going to replace it and repaint the house this summer and I was interested in her opinion...
*How Biker Bear manages to write about her current situation, with even a modicum of humor is a testament to her Indomitable spirit. Both she and her husband are in pain and not finding the NHS to be of much help,There's not much I can do except dedicate these flowers from our garden to them, and hope they bring a bit of cheer and healing.
