Beeleigh Abbey

Desperately wanted to sit with my feet in the cooling fountain today as we managed a little visit in the sweltering heat to the Open Gardens at Beeleigh Abbey near Maldon in Essex.

Such a beautiful house - owned by the Foyle's bookstore family! - and they open their gardens quite regularly now to raise money for local charities so we always love to visit - and sample the tea and cake of course!
