Chedworth Roman Villa

We're at Cheltenham for the weekend in a very nice Airbnb near Pittville Park.  We stopped off at Chedworth on the way down, the site of a Roman villa which has been archaeology investigated discovering a wealth of mosaic flooring, rooms and out-buildings such as hot and cold baths, furnace room and latrine.  

The main photo is a detail from one of the floors, the extra a mosaic passageway, both excavated from under feet of soil.


There is also a woodland walk and a museum of Roman artefacts found on site.

Later this evening we took an evening walk round Pittville Park.
