Day 1

Afternoon out and a wee trip to the seaside for day 1 of festival for this wee lady. Before she left, B chose her a beautifully fabulous piece that was "so Katie". She left it with us to explore and learn for the festival. Over the last 5 weeks katie has worked so hard on this piece. It's a Grade 5. Today she went out and nailed it. She was gorgeous. She was against 10 and 11 yr olds and came first. It was a little extra special because I accompanied her publicly for the first time ever. Katie didn't think she'd won so her face when she realised she had was rather fabulous.

She smiled so much for the rest of the day. It was all made even more special because B FaceTimed her and during the conversation she told Katie that she'll be home two days earlier than we thought. Consequently Katie has decided she's not going to have next with lessons with M, she's just going to wait for her B.

The day was rounded off with dance class where her favourite teacher led the class for a change and we ended the day with the biggest tray of sushi she could find. We learnt tonight that katie likes prawns, but only if the tail is removed from the piece of fish before she eats it, and that katie definitely does not like salmon anywhere near her sushi.
