Rain and Hail and Eric Blair

Bit of an odd day weather wise really. Warm sunshine mixed with hailstones, rain mixed with bright sunshine and the inevitable rainbow. The harvest is not in but the winter has shown willing.
We Scots love to discus the weather. It's a conversation opener I suppose. Phrases like
"cold day pal, nasty wind eh, expect it will continue raining tomorrow but at least it keeps those midgies at bay", "brass monkeys" and "time to get the warm woolies on" abound.
The beasts of the field seem unconcerned about all of this. "Rainbow's" they say "what price rainbows in the big scheme of things, give me grass any day".
Four legs good I suspect .....
