Canal locks

With the weather being so hot we decided to stay local and visited the set of locks outside of Devizes at Caen Hill. The canal drops 73 metres and to compensate, the engineers built a series of 29 locks and basins to allow free movement of the barges. Incredible! Just finished our 3rd BBQ in the tiny garden of the cottage using Poundland disposable BBQs and they worked fine!
