Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows

My Dear Fellow,

I feel bad for posting a picture of The Gyle. But then again I'm there so often during the week you should consider yourself lucky that you haven't seen a lot more of it by now.

This is me on my way to do a big Cat Grocery Shop. This was followed by me going in the other direction to do a big Er Indoors Lo-Cal Ready-Meal Shop.

I needed to prepare for the weekend. I'll be out with Bokhara tomorrow night, and then of course off to Auslaender-land the day after that. And Er Indoors, while a very resourceful woman in many ways, would starve to death if she didn't have microwaveable meals to fall back on.

When I got back I bumped into Enthusiastic IT Delivery Manager. She is lovely. I think she's in her mid-20's and just happy and delighted about EVERYTHING. When I talk to her I imagine speech-bubbles with exclamation marks on every sentence. Sometimes there are smiley faces, unicorns and rainbows too.

I'm being SO patronising. I apologise to optimistic people everywhere. She is also good at her job and always a pleasure to deal with. But I'm a cynical, grumpy person. And I wonder how people such as Enthusiastic IT Delivery Manager express negativity.

If she were to get mad, I think it would be like when a tiny little kitten tries to be fierce by fluffing up its tail and leaping around sideways. She would be adorable and funny. She would end up on YouTube.

She asked when I was going on my holidays and I realised she didn't know I was going and not coming back. When she found out she was BESIDE HERSELF.

"Oh my gosh! That's so exciting!! I'm SO envious!!!! Smileyface unicorn," she said.

And she's right. It IS exciting. After this chat with Enthusiastic IT Delivery Manager and words of wisdom from Princess Normal on Monday I think I'm starting to get enthused again. Oh my gosh! What's happening to me?! I think I just farted a rainbow and smiled a sunbeam!! I can't stop it!!!!
