A day at the flower show

One of the perks of volunteering for the RHS is a couple of tickets to Hampton Court Flower Show. This year I couldn't help but be slightly disappointed at the show gardens. Many had been designed and built as though everyone involved couldn't quite be bothered to do a good job and this was reflected by the judging: very few gardens got gold. But the nurserymen and women were all as enthusiastic as ever and the weather was perfect. I even got to meet one of my horticultural heroes, Jake Hobson, on the Niwaki stand. Most definitely a Good Day Out.

As we were leaving I spotted someone's cache of essential flower show items stowed away behind a hedge for later collection.
