Hawk On the Barn

We worked around in the backyard and garden most of the day, and for the longest time we could hear, but couldn't see this hawk. Finally, I spotted it on top of the barn. The previous owner of this place was an occasional pilot, and he used the pasture as a runway. He put this device on the barn as a wind direction indicator (there's probably a name for that). The hawk found it to be a nice resting spot. I think it has a nest nearby because I've heard it for days now, very vocal.
