The Cider House Brothers....

After our walk yesterday at Uisga Ban Falls, the guys decided they needed to gather apples to make cider! A call to some friends yielded about 5-6 small bags worth. We then checked out the back roads, looking for apples that were tasty! Richard and Terry were very diligent in their tasting the ones on the ground before they decided from which tree to gather them from.

So, today is cider making day here at Big Hill! Just never a dull moment eh!!!

By the way, Richard isn't beating up the apples to make the juice, he was demonstrating something to do with beating off some unseen monster i think ! Terry is turning the crank on the apple press.....richard's main job was feeding them into the trough at the top!

What a day here....sunny and hot!

I'm glazing mugs and other items....kiln on tomorrow!
