Light Trails

When you think of all the miles that we travel every day, criss crossing back and forth like ants, trails of cars and lorries all going off up and down roads and motorways, following each other in busy lines, we must clock up a fair distance. We are never still, we scurry and hurry off to places, rushing this way and that as we don't want to be late, then we hurry and scurry back tracking, returning to where we started from. I must have clocked up enough miles to have whizzed around the world by now at least once....well it certainly feels like I should have anyway.

Yesterday I went to the furthest session South, to Buxton, and today we headed in the opposite direction to Colne. With the road works and traffic yesterday it took an hour and twenty minutes to get to Buxton, today it was just over an hour to Colne. Do you remember those spirographs? I feel like I'm making a pattern just like them as I hurtle down the motorways all around Manchester....in and out of the city. I'm marking out a big red pattern of blood collection. Round and round and round and round.....I am a spirograph pattern etched on the highways.
