Halifax Minster
I was in Halifax today for a eye test so I thought Halifax Minster would offer some Blip opportunities.
Formerly Halifax Parish Church, it was completed about 1438 and was awarded Minster status in 2009.
My Blip is looking down the Nave to the East end. The roof is a wonderful series of painted ceiling panels - representing the heraldry of the vicars and famous families of Halifax Parish. These were originally painted by John Aked and James Hoyle, and were put in place between about 1695 and 1703, but were repainted in the 1820s, and cleaned after World War II.
