..... on the Midi Plan Arête, what a great day those climbers had, to do this classic route. We had terrific view from the top of the Index lift with the whole Mont Blanc Range perfectly displayed before us (see those "old men of the mountains" in extra). A great day out, especially for my sister and husband, who had never been to Chamonix before.

Thanks for all the sympathetic comments for yesterday's "Goodbye to Swami" tribute, I am sure we all have pivotal people in our lives and can see their influence extending throughout our lives.
