View from a window 2
The view from the house on Raasay, looking slightly north west across the Sound of Raasay over the tidal Holoman Island towards Skye with the peak of Ben Tianavaig. This for me is the essence of dynamic Hebridean evening lighting, the clouds scudding across the sky, and shafts of light search-lighting the sea through cloud breaks. It changes constantly and I cannot take my eyes off it.
We arrived mid-afternoon after a gentle start and meander north from our overnight stay in Port Appin. S and A were not far behind us, having set off from South Cumbria in the early morning. We barely had time to get unpacked and put the kettle on, when they arrived tired and smiling, and Gus and his pal Rowan were reunited.
It was wonderful to be here again, and this time with two weeks to look forward to. Home from home, but with a much better view.
