Ships that pass .... in the Sunshine!

The MS Amadea and the MV Clansman were looking like they were about to pass. But no, the Clansman veered off and took a huge detour behind the Amadea, presumably because it's still quite wild here even though we've had Proper Sunshine today. Yay for sunshine.

The Clansman you've seen before, a 50 car Ro-ro launched in 1964 and now operating on the Tiree-Coll-Barra service out of Oban. In winter she regularly stands in for vessels on other routes as necessary.
The Amadea was built in 1991 in Nagasaki, but is now operated by a German line. She can take 624 passengers in 2 royal and 40 regular suites, and 254 cabins. A crew of almost 300 take care of the passengers, quite a ratio. She also has a doctor and hospital facilities. H calls these Gee Whizz statistics, but I like 'em, then I can go Wowee!

The news of the day is that FINALLY we completed the sale of our old house. Not without its last minute dramas with missing legal documents which meant the buyers solicitors could/would not release the funds. All well in the end, and relief and jubilation after a marathon. H will join me here for R&R for a couple of weeks until we can get into our rented accommodation back in the south. Not used to being apart so long, will be great to be back together in time to celebrate our anniversary next week.
