I spotted mother swan and cygnets on the far side of the water, and then realised they were watching the melodrama under the bridge arch. We've seen this several times but it's proved very difficult to photograph, being at a considerable distance and in full shadow. Mr Bernard Bridge swan and Mr Sandport Bridge swan circle each other menacingly at the border between their territories beneath the Sandport bridge.They occasionally try to raise their wings in full threatening display mode which only reminds them that they have almost no headroom. So onwards they circle. :-)

(In other news, in Tesco today I only narrowly avoided a conversation with Kezia Dugdale, who was set up at the little counter where they usually hand out free samples of new products.)
