A 30 minute journey took us nearly 5 hours. Junctions 34-36 of the M6 were closed whilst police investigations took place for a 'hit and run' accident in the early hours in which a man apparently died.

Best thing was said by B...."We may have been held up by it, but a few hours earlier and we could have been involved in it." Be thankful for small mercies.

Upshot is, we arrived at Hippin Hall just in the nick of time for dinner. It was late and, as you can see, pretty miserable!
