Back blip!
Today's walk with Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers from Abronhill and around Palacerigg Country Park was, let's not pretend otherwise, wet. Steady rain throughout and wet-weather gear was definitely order-of-the-day. The fact that one of my friends was leading it played a big part in my decision to go out, when staying at home in bed would have been the more sensible option.
However, the leader adjusted the route and shortened the walk so we avoided the worst of the underfoot conditions. We also took a group decision - there were only ten of us out, so that made it easier - to stop for a coffee and a dry-out in the Palacerigg Park cafe mid-way round.
I suppose to finish a walk in these conditions provides its own special sense of self-satisfaction.
