Cockbridge Corbett Collection

The holidays are here!
Dumped the car in the closed hotel at Cockbridge and headed over Carn Ealasaid thence over to the Lecht ski mess astride the A939 road. I was surprised to be bombed by an enormous squawking flock of gulls in the ski area. Looking at the ground, I realised they were protecting nestlings stuck in the long grass on one of the Red Runs. Never expected to see a site like that so far from the coast.

Across the road and onto the Ladder Hills for a long tramp north east to the trig point of Carn Mor. On the way I flushed numerous mountain hares and one russet red fox who scampered off down into a Corrie.

I headed south to join a good track that eventually led me back to Cockbridge after 19miles.
Wild camped by the River Livet near Tomnavoulin.
